Last week I talked about volume fail, and I unfortunately somewhat experienced it again this week despite playing four days. I caught a pretty nasty cold and played short days because of it.
I probably shouldn’t have played at all, to be honest. I played because I didn’t want to miss a couple SCOOP events, but I think I might have just cost myself money in the end.
Also, you can probably tell that I have zero photos of myself playing poker since all my PokerListings pictures are of me on vacation. I finally decided to get a shot of me at my desk, so now you can see my setup!
It’s pretty unimpressive as it consists of just one 27 inch monitor. I’d like to add a second monitor ASAP, but I think I need a video card update :( I am pretty terrible with computers, though, so there’s a high chance that I have zero clue what I’m talking about.
But enough about that. Let's get to the poker!

Before this cold, I actually hadn’t been sick since I had my 9 to 5 job in 2009. That’s over 1.5 years ago! I truly believe that I am much healthier not working a regular job. I sleep better, I eat healthier, and I am just way happier.
My life is crazy right now. I’m getting married in under two weeks and have so much to do before then. And then with hockey playoffs (I’m a huge Canucks fan), my website job, and poker … I have no free time at all! I’m also trying to plan my trip to Vegas for the World Series of Poker at the same time, but it’s really tough to do right now.
Because of the wedding, I won’t be getting to Vegas for WSOP until late June. I’m going to be there for two weeks from the 24th and I’ll be playing five events. My biggest challenge right now is finding somewhere to stay. I want to eat out as few times as possible while I’m in Vegas, so I need a kitchen for sure.
I just want to find somewhere safe and convenient, but I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg. A picky person that plans a trip this late deserves to have trouble finding accommodations though :)
I’m only playing online poker two days this week because it’s unrealistic to think that I will have time for more. So I can talk about more volume fail next week? At least it’s planned this time!
