I'd have needed a much, MUCH stronger form of anti-tilt this week than a simple YouTube video!
While I've gotten to the point where I can generally handle the ups and downs and beats of poker fairly well, internet and computer issues can still put me on pretty serious tilt, especially during downswings and especially in crucial situations.
Well, my ~1 year old, fully loaded desktop decided that it wanted to crap the bed mid-Sunday session on this occasion, not once, but twice.
One of these times I was inexplicably looking at AA, KK, and QQ simultaneously, and the AA was facing a shove already.
I tried to act on my hands but one site stopped responding ... followed by another ... followed by the blank white screens in place of each table, which is the sure sigh of "YOU'RE F'D AND YOUR CARDS ARE PROBABLY ON THEIR WAY TO THE MUCK."
I am definitely the jackass here, because as I scrambled to my bedroom to grab my laptop while my desktop rebooted I was left thinking to myself "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, Shame on me." This sucks on multiple levels, including the fact that I was fooled twice by an inanimate object. How stupid am I? Shame on me, indeed.
I managed to make another run in the tournament I lucksack the most -- the $215+rebuys -- but it wasn't quite to be and I fell a bit short of the final table that often saves my Sunday session, finishing in 14th place.
Anyway, here it is...and cheers to better Sundays this 2011 for us all.
