When you see the cashes listed below you'll understand why it took me a week and a half to even want to look at the records again. It was my first session back in front of my home set up, in my element.
I was feeling great and ready to give it my all for a full session.
And that I did! Even after final table bubbling my very first tournament of the day -- the Tilt $109 -- I kept playing my best. Then 14th in the Cake $109. 10th in the Stars $109 2r1a.
I finally managed to not final table bubble the Stars $109 turbo when I got deep in that, though! I took 9th.
At this point Brian Devonshire came over with his usual positive attitude and some alcohol to boot. Hanging out with him and my roommate Jon Eaton and having a few beers definitely made me feel a bit better.
I was a bit frustrated, but on one level I was really proud of myself for taking it in stride and continuing to play my best all day.
Then I played the late night super turbos and got my best finish of the day, a tie for 5th in the Stars $102 hyper-turbo heads up. The $8k+ for the winner could have salvaged a profit on the day but my 5♠ 5♦ fell to the mighty T♠ 4♣ in the final hand to bust me 5th and end my day.
...and then we drank some more!
