Wow, it's been a while since I've done this. I haven't done a written blog in quite sometime and my last video was almost a month ago. I would like to apologize to anyone who was anticipating my next post. I’ll try my best to never let it go this long again.
As for where I am right now, I’m using a media person's laptop on dinner break of the $1,500 WSOP circuit event in Hammond, Indiana.
I got here late last night just so I could play this event and the $10k which is on Monday. I’ve been crushing my starting table so far. We start with 20k and I’m up to 69k, after dinner the blinds will be 400/800.
I really enjoyed the last two weeks off from live poker. After arriving home in Florida from London I pretty much just chilled, played online a decent amount and enjoyed the time with family and friends.
Although I did have to make my way up to Atlanta for a weekend for my buddy, Phil Collins' (uscphildo) wedding which, by the way, was a freaking amazing time.
I’m definitely ready to get back on the live grind though. I really need to push myself these last couple months of the year as I’m currently $85k short of having 1 million dollars in live cashes for the year, and I have a decent amount of money bet that I would accomplish that.
On a side note, can the Texas Rangers please please please put away the Yankees tonight!!?? I just don't wanna see or hear about the yankees in/winning the world series EVER. Even though it’s guaranteed to happen sometime, I'd love for it not to.
I just found out about the structure out here, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how things develop. We start with 40 minute blinds for day 1, 60 mins on day 2, and 75 mins on day 3.
I think this may be the direction that live tournaments need to be moving towards. In some of these tournaments we just have way too much play in the beginning and not nearly enough at the end.
If I don't somehow make the final table of the $10k out here in Hammond I'll be heading straight to Foxwoods for the main event of the WPT out there a week from now.
After that I'll be heading home for a few days before heading out to Vegas to watch the November 9. From there I'll be going to NAPT LA, and possibly getting on High Stakes Poker shortly after/during that.
If you haven't seen the 2011 Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure schedule, take a look at it! It's pretty unreal. There’s a $100k super high roller tournament!!!
I looked at what I could potentially spend in buyins on the trip ... yeah, just 170k, no big deal, lol. That's worst case scenario of course.
Alright everybody, hopefully I can take this thing down and then do a winners interview what what! It's about a quarter mill for first ... not too shabby!
peace
